The North Wales Cancer Patient Forum, in partnership with Awyr Las, the North Wales NHS Charity, organised a networking day which brought together representatives from 14 cancer support groups from across the region.
The event which took place in October at the Oriel House Hotel, St Asaph, was declared a great success and will hopefully be followed by a second event in 2017.
A representative from the Cancer Patient Forum said:
“This was the first event of its kind for North Wales and provided a chance for Cancer Support Groups, to come together, share their achievements and learn from each other.
With increasing numbers of people living with cancer, self-help and support groups provide a valuable opportunity for patients and their families to meet with other people who may have been through a similar experience.”
There are currently about 22 Cancer Support Groups in North Wales offering a wide range of activities and opportunities. Please go to our section on Support Groups for details or feel free to contact us if you would like more information.
